DRUM ROLL! CRA's Hot Topics Survey Results are HERE
For your reading pleasure, the full results of our Survey are available now - all 42 pages! Many thanks to the 18.6% of you who participated. The anonymous results are shown in graphs plus all open comments are included. These findings are very insightful as a barometer of the views of our participating members. On many topics we are closely aligned; on others we have more diverse opinions.
These results are being sent to our City Council and City Administrator for their consideration of their constituents views as they make decision in the months to come.
The background on this survey with all press mentions will continued to be posted on our August 2023 Survey webpage.

City Council Session Highlights - from/for August 30 & September 12 Note important topics moved to October
August 30 - the City Council Hosted the 1/2 Yearly Strategic Priorities Workshop
For those of you so inclinded: Here is the full PDF Agenda Packet; Here is the YouTube from this 4+ hour session. This session is where the Council, Department Leaders and the community gathered to recieve an update on and review the top 22 priorities in an expanded open listening session. Specific decisions on adding or shifting priorities are targeted for the September 12th City Council Meeting. (Updated 9/8, topic now also scheduled for October 3 City Council)
This agenda originally included Paid Parking - but inputs and discussions were pushed entirely to the October 3rd City Council Meeting for decisions/directions. Please check out our Survey results on this topic and the Carmel Chamber Survey results on this item as well. Also the Addresses project was discussed live - but also moved to the October 3rd City Council Meeting for an update with request for Council decisions/directions.
There are many topics on the City priorities that align to the CRA Survey items. Also some are fully committed and are ongoing priorities that are being addressed at City Council or the relevant City Commission over the coming months. Examples include: Design Traditions, Design Review Board, ADUs, Cell Towers, Housing etc. We ask the City Leadership to consider our Survey results as they make the next round of important decisions ahead.
There was especially significant passion expressed by our community members in this session on the following topics: Addresses, Safety, Fire Prevention, Trees and Undergrounding of Utilities. More to follow!
September 12 City Council
As mentioned above, the Addresses and Paid Parking topics that were previously targeted for this September meeting are now reset for the Tuesday October 3 City Council Meeting.
The final agenda for this September 12 Council Meeting will be posted here. However, based on items covered in the City's Friday Letter here and other mentions this week...we anticipate these topics to be discussed: - Strategic Priorities List Decisions/Directions by Council (<-- now set for Oct 3rd) - First Reading of the updated Wireless/Cell Tower Ordinance - Pine Inn Parking Lot proposal - JB Pastor Building Wall right to review
