The candidates we vote into office will make important decisions that affect residents, you, your family, and our community. With upcoming significant work on our Police Station, Housing Element, our Forest, etc., these candidates are not lacking significant issues relevant to our Village and all of us for years to come. And answers to our questions are critical to this process. Plus back by popular demand, we are planning for a "lightning round" where Candidates will respond to a few topics with "thumbs up" and "thumbs down".
Our agenda details. This event is free and open to the public as long as space allows. Doors will open at 5:00PM to mix with Candidates and fellow attendees. At 5:30 PM we will begin with a panel of Council Candidates first, with a break for finger foods and beverages, then reconvene with a panel of Mayor Candidates. Allowing 70 minutes for each panel and the break, we target our official program to end by 8:30PM. Yes this will be an expanded program length, with significant Village future essential topics and interactions assured. Please mark your calendars for this critical every-two-year event. In case you can't join us, this Forum will be recorded and will be posted our our webpage within 24 hours.

A) Community Wildfire Protection Plan was approved 5/0 HERE
B) Standard Addresses This agenda item discussion focused on a possible public vote - again receiving significant public comments. With a 3/2 vote it was agreed to hold Special City Council sessions for continued development and discussions on the possibilities, aiming toward a ballot vote in November 2025. C) Affordable Housing Alternatives/City Housing collaboration project update. HERE is the Staff report. Strong Council and public questions and reinforcements recieved including keeping the focus on delivering incremental affordable housing, program incentive details requested, keeping a robust forest, and more. Our 2024 CRA Feast in the Forest... an annual "Roundup" of CRA Members & Guests September 8th at the Indian Village in Pebble Beach.
Everyone dusted off their hats, shirts, boots and everything Western to join us for the best Feast in the Forest yet! Great people, food, beverage, live music, raffle items, the raffle winners and much more! HERE are the full event details, photos and video's!
