The Revised 6th Cycle 2023-2031 Housing Element has been posted online for a 7-day public comment period. The redlined (with changes) Housing Element document is available here:

Note: This current draft reflects the teams best efforts to achieve Village relevant, timely and time constrained approval by Sacramento. There are multiple projects, programs and deliverables proposed in this draft, that will continue to be refined, receive future public input and the required approval by City Council prior to implementation.
Also - Tuesday January 23rd CRA is hosting Paul Miller for "The Carmel Pine Cone Inside/Out". Paul the owner, publisher, editor of the Carmel Pine Cone, at the Carmel Woman’s Club, doors open at 6:30 PM with wine served. At 7:00 PM Paul will share a Behind the Curtain views into what makes this our Village weekly “must read”. Open to the public. Program details are HERE.
NOW Thursday January 24 4:00 PM - A Community Meeting on the Police Station Rebuild Proposal Work in Progress in City Hall
With the initial feedback provided at the Jan 9th City Council (see below), the Ad Hoc team will be hosting this community meeting for expanded discussions on how best to address the needs and options.

Staff, Consultant and Ad Hoc Council Members Mayor Dave Potter and Jeff Baron have been meeting to compile these findings, seeking comment and guidance, not decisions. The building was originally built in the 1960's with very nominal updates since this time.

A Great Winter Readiness "Carmel Prepares" Program
Carmel's amazing Community Emergency Response Team - CERT, Carmel City Public Works, Carmel City Police, Monterey Fire and County readiness teams hosted a session January 6th to fill us all in on what you need to know, what these teams do to help and how we all can be ready for disruptions caused by anticipated coming winter rains and winds.
